In order to provide a reasonable appraisal, we will need at least 3 of the following:

1) A picture of your watch. This is done using the "upload" feature.
2) Model number if known.
3) The case material, Silver, Steel or Gold, etc.
4) Case diameter & overall condition.

Due to the demands placed on my mailbox, I do not answer such inquires by direct mail. You must post your question here. Direct eMails regarding appraisals will be deleted and not answered.

Please note: Almost ALL the small ladies "cocktail" watches of brands such as Bulova, Gruen, Hamilton, etc., with gold trading at record prices are trading at or near scrap.

Baume & Mercier ladies' watch

Post by MTP-DC » Fri Jun 11, 2021 8:21 am

Baume et Mercier ladies' watch, handed down in family. 1920s. Oval dial approx. 7/8 inch x 1/2 inch. Diamond accents top and bottom. Blue stone on winder. Engraved on the back: "Baume & Mercier. Platine. Geneve. 77610." Initials "S.S." (probably refers to the original owner). The watch does not have the original band, but a fabric band that was obviously attached later. Condition unknown; I haven’t tried to wind it.

Any value at all? Thank you.

I think on both your watches, it may have more of a "jewelry" value than a horological one. In that context, it's hard to value unless we have the weight on the metal and assessment of the quality of the stones on the B&M. I still don't think there is a ton of value there, but you have enough value where you may want to look in repairing them. Esp the platinum piece.
