Help identifying model, age etc!

Answering questions regarding what you should expect to get for your vintage watch at auction or from a dealer. You may also ask if questions regarding the authenticity of your watch here.
Forum rules
In order to provide a reasonable appraisal, we will need at least 3 of the following:

1) A picture of your watch. This is done using the "upload" feature.
2) Model number if known.
3) The case material, Silver, Steel or Gold, etc.
4) Case diameter & overall condition.

Due to the demands placed on my mailbox, I do not answer such inquires by direct mail. You must post your question here. Direct eMails regarding appraisals will be deleted and not answered.

Please note: Almost ALL the small ladies "cocktail" watches of brands such as Bulova, Gruen, Hamilton, etc., with gold trading at record prices are trading at or near scrap.

Help identifying model, age etc!

Post by Ell » Sat Feb 11, 2017 10:52 pm

Hi all,

I am new to JLC watches and have recently acquired the attached watch.

Any help you can give as to authenticity, age, model or any information at all would be greatly appreciated.
I would also be interested in an appraisal as well but figured it would be best to find out a little more about it first.

Just for clarification:

The number located on the movement is '636443' .

Although the images make it appear gold in colour it is stainless steel as it's definitely not gold coloured to the actual eye.

The inside of the back case is marked 'Acier Inoxydable' and also reads 'pour deboiter' and faint writing beneath... I am since lead to believe this is simply instructions on how to remove the movement or case?
There is also a date written in ink: 29.11.07.L.1082 not sure what relevance this has...maybe a service date?

On the outside of the back case there is a 'B' and the number '362132'

If any further info is required I would be happy to provide more on request.

Thank you in advance.

Dates to approx. 1950, seems to have a refinished dial and a chrome plated top (that's what the "B" indicates)

Thank you for you quick response and info its much appreciated.
Are you able to tell me if there is a model name specific to this watch? And do you have any suggestions for appraisal?

I don't have a model name. I see this of this sort typically selling in the $400-800 range.
