Looking for information on this vintage JLC

Postby Sanchezssz » Tue Aug 31, 2021 7:56 am

Hello,

My father died a few years ago and we found this watch storage in his locker recently.
I'm looking for information about it.
I already spoke with someone from JLC, but didn't help enough. He just said it was probably bought in Europe on 70s.
I would appreciate if someone could help me.

I'm trying to attach photos, but I only managed to add one. See bellow links to see more photos.

PS: sorry for my poor english, I hope people can understand me

This is actually a watch that was made in the 1940s but was then subsequently modified by a jeweler. Most likely to add an integrated gold bracelet.

Thanks for your answer.
You said that it was "modified by a jeweler" just because of the bracelet or there is another thing different?
Do you think it is real JLC? Wich movement is it?
Does this type of watch worth something?

I think it was a normal watch with a leather strap, made in the 1940s then later modified to add the bracelet.

This is probably the movement family:

Value is going to be mostly that of the gold + the movement value.

Just one more question.
What’s the meaning of “4/10” in the case?

That is an indication of how thick the gold is. The reason that put that, is so that unscrupulous people don't shave the case thickness in half and harvest the gold.
