Master Mariner - Does this look ok? Part 1

Postby DannyB » Wed Feb 12, 2020 4:22 am

Hi everyone, I’m looking at purchasing either this Master Mariner(calibre K882 serial number 2039XXX for 1969)or looking for a Powermatic/Powerwind. I use Zaf's book regularly for my other purchases but it doesn’t cover the Master Mariner, so I’m struggling a bit. I like the Master Mariners but not the HPG versions as I understand that the quality dropped with the calibres used in them. Is that correct?
Could I ask your opinions of this watch? Does it look original?
What do you think of the Master Mariners generally?
The asking price is AUD$2500= US$ 1670.
Unfortunately we don’t seem to get the same quality range of vintage JLC’s here in Australia as I’ve seen when in the US.
I was unable to post all the photos on this post, so have created more posts for the other photos. Sorry.
