Hello, I inherited a gold Jaeger Le Coultre wristwatch from my father when he died in 2000. I think it was bought for his 21st birthday in 1952 - not sure if new at the time. It's 33mm in diameter, serial number 672999, and I think a type 449 movement. The back "lid" of the watch is not original, but made by Dennison - 9 carat gold. It was also cleaned/repaired by Jaeger leCoultre in 2000. I would appreciate any additional info - history and value etc.

The back lid could very well be original, Dennison made 9k cases for JLC for the UK market. It will not have a Swiss reference number as it's locally cased. The 449 is well regarded. The value is less than what JLC charge to restore it I'm afraid.
