Re: Regulating a Patek Philippe Ellipse

No we're independent. That's why it's 1/3 the cost. Quality is the same, we've been doing this for 25 years.

If your watch is running it's really not a problem, the movement is fairly simple (other than the Gyromax part) which is just time consuming to set up, relative to conventional regulation.

Re: please help with ID

It's going to be (most likely) a "mens Rectangular watch, reference 9006" in the catalog, It most likely will not have a model name.

Re: Jaeger-LeCoultre watch ID

I see these selling between $400-$750 usually, depending on condition and if it needs service, etc.

Re: Jaeger LeCoultre Watch ID

The back lid could very well be original, Dennison made 9k cases for JLC for the UK market. It will not have a Swiss reference number as it's locally cased. The 449 is well regarded. The value is less than what JLC charge to restore it I'm afraid.

Re: Identification steel JLC

I would not buy that watch w/o seeing the insides of the back, and I probably wouldn't but it just because the dial is redone. Probably best to look for something else.

Re: Identification steel JLC

I'm not sure I like the looks of that watch, The dial has been refinished for sure, and most likely the hands have been replaced. Do you have a picture of the insides of the case back? I'm not convinced.

Re: Regulating a Patek Philippe Ellipse

Hi, just spoke to my watchmaker again, we can do a full service for $650 + return ship. We have to take a little more than our normal rate because the Gyromax balance is a pain in the ass! If interested you can go here:

For more info.

Re: Regulating a Patek Philippe Ellipse

Watchmaker just replied: "That's a free sprung balance. The adjustments will have to be made on the balance itself." So I'm afraid there is no really cheap way out of this. It would not be a bad idea to service it to be honest since you don't know when it was last done, assuming you can get a reason...

Re: Third wheel for JLC 411 / 437

Honestly, there are so many variants with that movement, it's difficult to order the part. You never know what you're going to get.

Where is the watch?
